In 1958 very few East Enders had cars. A seaside trip or country visit meant taking a coach and that would probably have been one from the Ewer group. Grey Green, Orange Luxury and Fallowfield & Britten picked up from all over East London. They also provided daily services to many parts of the country (see below). In 1958 a coach trip to Norfolk and Wroxham Broad cost 17/6d (87.5p in “new money”) I think a building that housed one of their coach stations still survives in Bethnal Green Road.
