Marks on Denby hunting jugs

Most Denby jugs are unmarked. Very occasionally impressed and printed marks are found, sometimes with a date. The printed marks are probably all 20th century. The BOURNE'S WARRANTED mark has only been seen twice - on a 4 oz jug and a 4 pint jug and probably dates from the 1840/50s. The "warranted" is from the claim "warranted not to absorb" impressed on early stoneware bottles. Click for link to images. Although these jugs share many sprigs with later Denby items it is possible that they were made at one of Joseph Bourne's other potteries such as Belper (closed 1834) Codnor Park (closed 1861) or Shipley (closed 1856).
